What an understatement! The service that Lethal Rhythms provided us went so far beyond, MC, DJ or event coordinator. With all of the roles that you played I have to say the value that we got for our money was amazing!
You guys simply "made it happen" from the second you arrived in Birmingham until the second you left. You were quick to respond and we always felt like you guys were on top of things and there was nothing for us to worry about. All of our vendors including the facility manager and caterer commented on how professional you were and how well you worked with everyone just to make the night perfect. Your experience and success with what you do made it easy for me to just trust your suggestions.
I can not stress enough, how all of the little The Knot that you suggested just made the evening flow so perfectly. We have gotten so many compliments on the flow of the evening and how much fun everyone had. Everyone loved the fact that we cut the cake before the dancing began!
And you were right...you created an environment that made people want to stay and hang out long after the cake was cut:) We really can not thank you enough for everything that you did for us, including bringing us something to eat before we were announced!
I don't know how you guys do it, but it just seemed like the entire night you were right there just making things happen...and when I say things, I mean things that went far beyond the scope of the services we expected you to provide. We were lucky enough to find you online.
I promise we will tell everyone we know what a great job you do. Aside from all of the additional services that you all provided I have to also say that the music was AMAZING! You know how important this aspect of the reception was for me and I truly felt like you listened to what we wanted and you orchestrated your music selections perfectly to suit what we like which you somehow made work for all of the guests too!! Dear Joel, What can I say?
The wedding was AMAZING! I don't know if writing this note will really be able to describe how much your work leading up to and at the wedding meant to Jamal and I but I will try ...
I think you know based on our calls and meetings that going into this wedding Jamal and I were pretty nervous about what we envisioned happening versus what we thought could potentially happen. Coming from two totally different cultures and traditions, there were lots of things that we needed to balance to try to keep everyone happy.
With that in mind, from the first time we met you, Jamal and I felt extremely comfortable with you and your suggestions and recommendations really put us at ease and took so much weight off of our shoulders. For the actual day of, you completely exceeded our expectations. We (and 250 of our closest friends and family ;) had such a blast at the wedding, and weeks later we still have friends and family from both sides (who literally traveled from all over the world, Australia, Lebanon, England to name a few), tell us what an amazing job you did!
You really kicked off the party and kept it going all night long! The music was incredible, and the way you mixed, on the spot, the Arabic music with the traditional American songs was a HUGE hit! Never in our wildest dreams did we think we'd get some of our family who are just not used to the traditional American style wedding and music even step close to the dance floor, but they were the first ones on and the last ones off!
I've actually never been to a wedding where not a single person was seating in their seats but instead were on the dance floor and you made this happen. And even more than the music, you were able to command the entire evening while still keeping the focus on Jamal and I all night long!
In fact, Jamal's father, who is definitely not accustomed to these types of weddings or the American music, said the next day how impressed he was with you. To quote him he said "He was really great, and his voice had such a presence. When he spoke, everyone listened!" Again, I'm not sure my words can really capture how great you made the experience for Jamal and I but I can say from the bottom of our hearts thank you for helping make our expectations a reality and creating an evening that from start to finish reflected who Jamal and I really are, what we believe and how happy we are to be married. As far as why we chose Lethal Rhythms....that was an easy decision. Brian and I went to a wedding down on Jekyll Island last June, and Joel was the DJ. At the time, Brian and I both commented on how great he was in leading the reception and how we'd have to remember him when the time came for us. Anyhow...we got engaged the day after Thanksgiving and within a month, we were already talking about what kind of music we wanted at the wedding. I emailed my friend who got married on Jekyll Island, and as soon as I heard back from him, I was already contacting Joel.
Not gonna lie, he's not cheap, but it was worth it to us to shift our budget around since we had seen him before, and we knew we liked his style. Unfortunately, Joel didn't end up being available on our wedding date, but we were so excited to book Fernando. We trusted Joel from the beginning and knew he wouldn't steer us wrong. It is so important to Brian and me to not have some cheesy wedding DJ...basically we want people to remember our wedding as a great party! We went with Lethal Rhythms specifically based on how impressed we were with Joel when we met him in person!

I had been searching for a couple of weeks for the perfect DJ and nothing looked good to me. It looked either too "cheesy" or just boring! My mom even contacted some DJs and when I heard what she had to say I just was not impressed. Though they were less expensive they just had "Boring/lame" written all over them. I was really looking for that DJ for people to leave our wedding and think wow!
Finally I came across the Lethal Rhythms site from the Knot.com! Even though I was a bit overwhelmed with the site I liked what I saw. I filled out a request form and got a call back the very next day! And esp after talking to Joel on the phone, I knew this would be the company we would use. Joel just knew what he was talking about. He even mentioned things I would have never thought of that are totally important aspects of the wedding. I loved his ideas and fun ways to always have our guest entertained yet keep us the focus of the night. After meeting him in person Tony and I were very impressed.
He drew out a map of Flint hill (with out me telling him) and layed out the perfect plan. He listened to what we wanted and you could tell he really tries to make each wedding night unique to the bride and groom (which is awesome)!! I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders after meeting with him!
And well like they say...the rest is history and we are soooo excited to have Joel!! Why Joel...that is the easy part! He just knew what we wanted!

When we were planning our wedding, we initially wanted to have a live band. Unfortunately, we found that they are VERY expensive, and the finances just didn't work out.
